Bryson Chapter 1:

QCCQ:

Quote:
"There is of course a great deal we don't know, much of what we think we know we haven't known, or thought we've known, for long."

Comment:
The way I interpret this quote is that there is still a lot that is left unknown. The author is trying to convey that although we think we know things, there is still a larger amount of things that we are not educated about. There are things that we know, or at least think  we know but really we know nothing because there is still so much that we have no clue about. The things we may know are forever changing and that causes us to question the little we do know.

Connection:
Many of us think we are educated and that we know a fair amount of things but i feel like this is hinting at the fact that we really don't know much at all. What purpose do we have if we know nothing? I feel like many of us, including myself don't take the time to question things. We should all question the things we already know and all that we do not. There is more to life that what most of us think.

Question:
What does this even mean, do we even know anything at all? This makes me question the things I think I know, not only about atoms and matter, but about everything in general.
